Brookfield Park details

Staten Island's Brookfield Park offers extensive walking trails and paths with expansive views. Once the site of a municipal solid waste facility, the 287-acre park opened in 2017 with dozens of acres of restored freshwater and tidal wetlands as well as grasslands that support a diverse community of birds and butterflies. More than 17,000 trees and 76,000 plants were planted as part of the restoration. Four marked trails provide excellent hiking opportunities. Experience ponds, rivers, wetlands, marshes, and meadows at this restored, safe, and serene mid-Island gem.
