Fort Washington Park details

The 96-acre Fort Washington Park natural area is a sloped coastal oak hickory forest on the west side of upper Manhattan, underneath the George Washington Bridge. The forest connects Fort Tryon Park with Riverside Park, providing linear habitat along the Hudson River. There are some canopy gaps throughout the site with introduced and spreading species growing, such as the honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii).
