Givans Creek Woods natural area
This site is not generally accessible to the public.
Adjacent to Co-op City’s urban development, Givans Creek Woods is a 10-acre natural area comprised of successional upland forests of oak and hickory, a low-lying wooded wetland, surrounding meadows, and rocky outcrops covered with mosses and lichens. The site contains fragments of several original habitats otherwise lost on the west bank of the Hutchinson River. The forest understory boasts flowering dogwood and several native ferns.
