Old Place Creek Park details

This site is not generally accessible to the public.

Old Place Creek is a 44-acre park downstream of the 70-acre New York State Department of Conservation Old Place Creek Tidal Wetland property. The Creek meanders through vast expanses of salt marshes dominated by cordgrass (Sporobolus alterniflorus) and saltmeadow cordgrass (Sporobolus pumilus) to the Arthur Kill along the Goethels Bridge. Old Place Creek's headwaters, across the highways, include nearby Staten Island Industrial Park. The wetlands are a refuge for myriad birds and wildlife amongst the more industrial areas of northwest Staten Island.
