This event repeats every week on Saturday between 3/4/2023 and 3/1/2026.
NYRR Open Run Brings free, 5K weekly community-led runs, to neighborhood parks across the greater New York City area. The program is free and open to runners and walkers of all ages, abilities, and experience levels.
Canarsie Park serves the neighborhoods of Canarsie and nearby Flatlands, Mill Basin, Marine Park, and Bergen Beach. Home to baseball fields and cricket pitches, it’s bordered by the Belt Parkway and Paerdegat Basin.

Know Before You Go
Ecology Park is a five acre site set within Paerdegat Basin Park. The goal of the park is to promote habitat restoration and ecological improvement, highlighting fourteen native plant community types that exist or once existed in New York City.
Ecology Park is only open at certain times of year when Parks staff are present in order to protect this unique landscape. Want to visit? Check out our Stewardship Projects page for restoration, planting, and educational events.

Beach 15 - Beach 18, Beach 32 - Beach 34, Beach 43, Beach 57, Beach 59, Beach 77 - Beach 79, Beach 83 - Beach 86, Beach 94 - Beach 97, Beach 102 - Beach 106, Beach 116 - Beach 118, and Beach 140 - Beach 144.
All other sections are closed to swimming.
