The five-acre Raoul Wallenberg Forest is located across the street from Riverdale Park and contains many massive, old trees. including two large white oaks and a European beech. Raoul Wallenberg Forest is also home to several densely vegetated areas of blackberries (Rubus allegheniensis), wineberries (Rubus phoenicolasius), grapes (Vitis spp.), roses (Rosa multiflora), black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia), sumac trees (Rhus spp.), and various wildflowers. Dozens of species of birds, including downy woodpeckers (Dryobates pubescens), red-tailed hawks (Buteo jamaicensis), and white-throated sparrows (Zonotrichia albicollis), are also commonly seen in the park.
