Meeting Location: PECaN Parking Lot - 3808 Victory Blvd

Description: Come check out the NYC Parks Plant Ecology Center and Nursery (PECaN), formerly known as the Greenbelt Native Plant Center, and learn how our new name aligns us better with our mission, scope of work, and breadth of knowledge! You will get a tour of the facility and a behind-the-scenes look at native plant and seed production in New York City. Then work alongside our staff doing some hands-on tree production and tree care. Volunteers should be prepared for muddy outdoor work, dusty indoor work and should expect to get their hands dirty! Please come dressed in warm clothing, long-sleeved shirts and pants, and sturdy footwear. Gloves and necessary tools will be provided. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
