Meeting Location: Join us for a guided tour of the NYC Parks Plant Ecology Center and Nursery (PECaN) on Staten Island! PECAN is a13-acre plant and seed production facility located on Staten Island. Our mission is to support the restoration and enhancement of NYC's natural areas and green spaces by providing high-quality, ecologically appropriate plants and seeds primarily grown from wild sources. The tour will cover the history of our site, as well as our seed collection, seed farming, and plant production programs. Site conditions may be muddy, so please come dressed accordingly.
