Meeting Location: PECaN Parking Lot - 3808 Victory Blvd

Description: Join the Plant Ecology Center and Nursery (PECaN) staff on January 21 for a hands-on sowing event! Volunteers will help start the next generation of native plants by preparing soil trays, sowing seeds, and organizing newly planted flats in the greenhouse. These seedlings will eventually support habitat restoration, seed farm plots, and park projects throughout the city. No prior experience is needed, just bring your enthusiasm and be ready to get your hands a little dirty. Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and clothes you don’t mind working in, and remember to bring a water bottle. This activity will be held mostly indoors, but weather may be cold, so please dress warmly. For the event, we’ll be working with a mix of native forbs and grasses. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
