Youth Infused Garden Projects
Wednesday, October 15, 2025
6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
Ready to engage youth in your community garden in ways that leave everyone fulfilled, energized, and empowered to give back? In this workshop, Ijendu Obasi will guide adults who teach or mentor youth in community gardening through strategies to plan and complete meaningful projects with young people. Learn how to design activities that build skills, foster leadership, and deepen connections between youth and their neighborhoods, all while accomplishing projects that support your garden’s goals. Participants will receive a practical toolkit that summarizes key ideas, project templates, and planning tips to help bring youth-infused projects to life in your garden next year.
NYC Parks GreenThumb hosts this event. We are proud to be the nation’s most extensive urban community gardening program, sustaining over 550 gardens throughout New York City. With GreenThumb’s support, community gardens are centers of environmental justice, ensuring that our city is fairer, safer, and greener for all. GreenThumb’s events are free and open to the public.
