Foliage Frolic Weekend

Autumn peak is upon us, and there’s no better place in New York City to enjoy all the fall colors than Wave Hill! 

Soak in the gardens and the glorious Palisades at their spectacular fall peak with an array of themed programs, walks, and self-guided activities all weekend long. Go on bird walks to find migrating birds and the plants that help them on their journey. Learn about Wave Hill’s notable trees, taking in their wondrous foliage and discovering ways to document them with the Gathering Growth Foundation’s Brian Kelley. Take inspiration from the colorful leaves to craft your own wax candles.  

And don’t forget the little ones! Sketch and paint the seasonal landscape at Family Art Project, discover the science of leaves changing colors and family yoga practices with Kids on the Move, and explore a giant leaf pile for some outdoor fun. A special walk highlighting the garden’s hidden plant gems and stories is perfect for older kids and their families.   

Plus, the garden is open late for a terrace party on Saturday night with cider and music to extend the celebration of the fall season. A Fiery Sunset Yoga class rounds out the weekend late Sunday afternoon.
