Volunteer Workday: West 104th Street Garden
Thursday, August 14, 2025
9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
GreenThumb community gardens are developed, led, and cared for by dedicated volunteer gardeners who critically upkeep them as public green spaces.
West 104th Street Garden in the Upper West Side, Manhattan has been stewarded by dedicated gardeners for over 30 years and features membership plots, native planting beds, composting, rainwater harvesting systems, and more.
Join us for a hands-on volunteer day to help replace their garden beds with new ones made from sturdier material. No power tools needed! This is a great opportunity to support a dynamic community space while learning about urban agriculture. Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and bring water and snacks. Note: Some tasks may involve lifting heavy materials and extended periods of bending, squatting, and moving.
