Volunteer Workday: George Eagle Carr Community Garden

Saturday, September 13, 2025

10:00 a.m.2:00 p.m.

GreenThumb community gardens are developed, led, and cared for by dedicated volunteer gardeners who critically upkeep them as public green spaces.

George Eagle Carr Community Garden is a recently renovated garden in Jamaica, Queens that includes wheelchair-accessible pathways and raised beds. The gardeners are excited to meet volunteers and grow their membership. If you're interested in joining a community garden, please join us for a volunteer workday to meet the gardeners and perform basic garden maintenance such as organizing the tool shed, collecting debris, and spreading soil. No prior experience needed - beginners are welcome! Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and bring water and snacks. Note: Some tasks may involve lifting heavy materials and extended periods of bending, squatting, and moving.
