GreenThumb Fresh Chef Contest

Do you have what it takes to be GreenThumb's next Fresh Chef? We're seeking community members to show off their cooking skills at the 45th Annual GreenThumb Harvest Fair! on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Herbert Von King Park and Hattie Carthan Community Garden in Brooklyn. The GreenThumb Fresh Chef contest challenges participants to replicate their most delicious and nutritious version of a surprise dish demonstrated by a local chef. After the demonstration, contestants will then have a limited time to prepare their interpretation of the dish, while Council Member Chi Osse MC’s the contest and visitors cheer them on!  The cook-off will conclude with a panel of VIP chefs, including Council Member Osse, who will crown the top three 2025 GreenThumb Fresh Chefs.

Ages 16 and up are welcome to participate in the Fresh Chef Contest. Pre-registration is required and registration will close when the contest has reached capacity. To learn more and sign up, please visit here. We look forward to seeing what you cook up!
