Building a Tunnel Trellis for Gourds

Saturday, October 11, 2025

11:00 a.m.1:00 p.m.

Take your garden to the next level by building a sturdy, arched tunnel trellis to support gourds, squash, and pumpkins while adding a beautiful feature to your space. This intermediate workshop is ideal for gardeners or DIY enthusiasts with basic experience using power tools. Participants will learn about design, materials, plant growth needs, and safe tool use—while getting hands-on experience constructing a durable trellis that will last for seasons to come. They'll leave with the confidence and skills to build their own, maximizing their garden’s potential.

NYC Parks GreenThumb hosts this event. We are proud to be the nation’s most extensive urban community gardening program, sustaining over 550 gardens throughout New York City. With GreenThumb’s support, community gardens are centers of environmental justice, ensuring that our city is fairer, safer, and greener for all. GreenThumb’s events are free and open to the public.
