Volunteer Day: Family Community Garden Manhattan
Saturday, April 25, 2026
11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
GreenThumb community gardens are developed, led, and cared for by dedicated volunteer gardeners who critically upkeep them as public green spaces.
Family Community Garden Manhattan is a small garden nestled in East Harlem that is seeking volunteers and any interested potential garden members to join the space for a Earth Month Volunteer day on April 25th. We will be preparing the space for a new season of planting, and invite all to come envision what this space could be!
In celebration of Earth Month join Family Community Gardeners and GreenThumb Staff for a hands-on Volunteer Day to set the garden up for the new growing season! We will be doing general gardening projects, and some bed building to create additional planting space. If you would like to celebrate the holiday giving back and learn about how you can become a community gardener, please join us! Beginners are welcome! No prior experience necessary. Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and bring water and snacks. Note: Some tasks may involve lifting heavy materials and extended periods of bending, squatting, and moving.
